Taconic PTFE-Glass Fabrics and Tac-Tapes are used to cover the surface of the electrically heated sealing jaws, irons, platens, drawers - acting as durable non-stick surfaces for the plastic [eg PE] packaging film, allowing heat transfer to weld the plastic seam but preventing material adhering to the heated/welded surface. Modern automated, high speed packaging lines are dependent on a regular flow of materials.
Machine operators run machines at highest permissible sealing temperature for optimum output. Packaging materials, cellophane, polyethylene, polypropylene and laminated paper, paper/plastic, plastic/foil, packaging film materials will not stick to the heat sealing surfaces protected with Taconic PTFE-Glass.
Taconic PTFE-Glass Fabrics and Tac-Tapes resist the high temperature used in the process, facilitate thermal transfer from the heating platen to the sealable material.

Taconic PTFE-Glass Conveyors in Packaging Machines - Taconic PTFE Glass Conveyors of many types are used extensively in packaging machines of all shapes and sizes. Their use is directly attributable to the low friction, non-stick surface which performs without problems in a variety of adverse conditions; examples as follows - temperature extremes have little or no effect on the flexibility and performance of a PTFE-Glass Conveyor.
Taconic PTFE-Glass Open Mesh [4mm x 4mm] conveyors are used to convey film wrapped packages through shrink tunnels. Taconic PTFE-Glass withstands the temperature used for shrink packaging. Open mesh belting facilitates the circulation of hot air in the Shrink Tunnel.
