January 19, 2004 - Taconic announces the acquisition of the assets of Wildcat Ltd. and the fluoropolymer belting business of Wildcat Industries LLP. Wildcat has been at the forefront of industrial belting manufacturing in Europe for over 100 years.
“We are pleased to make this arrangement with Taconic, for several reasons,” commented Clive Langhorn, former chief executive of Wildcat Industries. “First and foremost, we will be able to preserve our highly skilled employee base, which have made Wildcat belts a strong brand in demanding applications around the world. Secondly, and of equal importance, we will be able to ensure that current Wildcat customers are served without interruption.”
Ian Molyneux, General Manager of Taconic International, Ireland, commented, “Current Wildcat customers will be ensured continual supply of their current Wildcat belting materials. As well, from Wildcat’s new expanded facilities in West Sussex, Taconic will be able to offer Wildcat laminated belts through our worldwide distribution in Europe, the Americas, and Asia.”
