Taconic has developed a range of Adhesive Tapes for the thermal spray industry which is probably the most extensive available anywhere in the world. These Tapes includes products specially designed to perform in very specific ways for particular applications, ranging from Standard Metal or Ceramic Plasma Spraying processes, to such demanding applications as HVOF and Grit Blasting.
Taconic Tapes exhibit excellent thermal and abrasion resistance while protecting adjacent surfaces from the spray. Our tapes are designed in order that they will not lift off or fray and will release easily without leaving adhesive residue. Most Taconic Tapes are supplied with a pressure sensitive silicone adhesive, which performs well in temperatures up to 260°C. Acrylic adhesive is available for particular applications.

Silicone Glass 6525-08
This product range consists of silicone rubber coated glass fabric with Silicone adhesive. The corrugated liner eases the removal of backing liner while a special outer surface assists over wrapping during masking. The Tapes are specially designed as a one application mask against Gritblast and Flame in standard Plasma Processes. A variety of adhesive strengths and outer surface qualities makes this range the versatile solution for most of your standard plasma masking applications.
Variations include a double laminate version providing added resistance to heavy blast and also allowing for more economical masking where two or more wraps of tape are required and a tack adjusted version specific to the prosthesis industry.
Taconic 6025-10
A silicone rubber impregnated glass fabric with silicone adhesive designed for use in situations where preparatory Gritblast is particularly heavy. The tape is “red” in colour. The open side is coated with a light silicone adhesive to assist over wrapping whilst the adhesive side is protected with a corrugated liner
Taconic 6025-12 Blue
A heavy duty glass/silicone tape for use with the HVOF process where resistance against extreme kinetic energy and temperature is required . The tape is flexible and has a high adhesion level with clean removal. Silicone adhesive protected with corrugated liner and coating of adhesive on open side to assist secure over wrap
Additional products include double sided adhesive tapes, a lightweight aluminum foil/glass cloth laminate and self wound-easy release tapes.
